Don't adblock voat. The ad's are non-intrusive and some are quite funny.

Does anyone even buy advertisements on Voat anymore? And if they do, it doesn't matter if someone adblocks it, because they pay per-day and not per-view.

It could still matter if it is ad blocked because you may have visited a site, bought a product or consumed whatever the fellow Voat was advertising otherwise. It won't hurt Voat the site but it could take away from our fellow Voat members wanting to advertise to us. My 2 cents. It's not hard to white list just one site that you support.

Yes people still buy advertisements on Voat, mainly to support Voat, which is the opposite function of what an advert should do.

Everytime I see a third party ad on voat I click on it

And I just wanted to add that the vast majority of people are absolutely THRILLED to hear that there's a way to block ads. When you tell them about adblockers, they will literally worship the ground you walk on. Half the people will think it's illegal or something. But they are all up for it. Do it at a friendly gathering/party, and everyone will worship you while asking you where to get it.

So far I have yet to meet anyone who was displeased or didn't care when I talked about adblockers. It's literally the easiest way to gain the undivided attention of any normie out there.

I like your approach but that is like trying to sink a boat by dumping your beer out.

What we need is a new platform that has open speech, allows op's to earn a living and not suck. I'd bet some people are working on it right now, thats the free market at work

I'm working on GVid.pw. I don't know about the not suck part but I'm working on it. New shit's been going in every day this week.

You can dream about a perfect life all you want, or you can work with what you've got. Normies will NEVER EVER leave jewtube until something more popular shows up. You're shooting for the stars, when you should be worrying about what's happening on the ground. We don't live in a perfect world, and we've gotta make the best of what we've got.

Until you figure out how to move all of youtube to dailymotion or some other site, this is one of the best ways to start fighting back.

You should look into LBRY, hopefully it will take off. No adds, no centralized control, revenue goes straight to the creators at their price.

Their ad could be "THIS IS LBRY!" and use the Asian guy as their mascot because Asian guy = better tech, every normie knows that.

Youtube is actually pretty good at allowing controversial opinions on its platform, unlike other big websites like FB, Twitter and Reddit. Nevertheless, I still use adblock where available.

These filter lists work in ublock origin, too:

https://youtube.adblockplus.me/

I run with the Pure Video one myself, but there are the other ones, as well, in case you're needing the comment section or the reccomendations or whatever.

Just edit to add: Anybody runnin an adblocker is well-served to check https://filterlists.com/ every so often to keep up on any new lists.

Wow, great sites - thank you. I like how easy adding the lists is, I've never seen this before

Short answer: You can't. Long answer: Learn how to jailbreak devices, and even then, you likely can't. Cheers! Linux PC for life

Brave browser will catch a lot of ads on Apple devices. This is why I did for my mom.

Look into adding a DNS block list to your router. You don't even need adblock on anything anymore after that.

Run a Pi-hole DNS server on a Raspberry pi. Tell your router to use the Pi-hole for all DNS lookups. Bam! No ads on any device in your home.

It's good advice in general. I've been using adblock plus on firefox for a while. Ublock origin is better? I also use noscript.

Do you exercise? It's super good for you. https://youtu.be/DsVzKCk066g

Ublock is like voat. Adblock is like reddit.

You're muddying the waters. Ublock, ublock origin, adblock, and adblock plus are ALL DIFFERENT. Ublock and adblock are shit. Adblock plus sold out. Ublock origin reigns supreme.

Not very clear what to take from that.

If there is something I want to watch and I has fucking commercials on my phone, I just don't bother.
