Puttitout gave @Cynabuns a janitor position on /v/whatever to help deal with the spam. Here is the announcement.
tl;dr Puttitout forgot to check that Cynabuns didn't already mod 10 subs, so now they're modding 11 subs. He then said the rule would be amended to exclude janitor mod positions from the 10 subs you're allowed to moderate.
I didn’t even consider the System rule violation when I modded @Cynabuns. Since it was a special case I didn’t even check other than to ensure this user wasn’t over the 10 subs. If this was a full mod case (subverse transfer) the bot would have rejected it but I did it manually so was unaware. We will be amending the rule to exclude these “Janitor” positions from this restriction.
This is still not the case, as we can not own more than 10 subs, regardless of whether it is a janitor position or not. /u/pembo210 tried to add himself as a janitor to other subs, and the system would not let him because he already mods 10 subs.
@Puttitout, can you clear this up? Are we supposed to be allowed to mod more than 10 subs as janitors or not? And if not, why does Cynabuns have 11 subs?
edit: Pembo has also pointed out that designers are not included in this rule. Would it not make sense to include them as they don't really have the power to delete posts or anything anyway? Pembo has had to make alts just to help with css due to the sub limit.
I see the downvote brigade has arrived. Funny how that happens when you mention anything vaguely PV related.
