i understand the double standard but youd be better off spending your time arguing for more free speech rather than pointing out that there could be more censorship

No. Defensive rhetoric does not work. The only way we get them to drop destructive tactics is to apply the same standards to them and to use their tactics against them.

Colleges entrenched affirmative action and pro-women recruitment for years. It's only just now that people are going after them because they're discriminating against men (40/60 m/f split) or against asians / over-representing Jews (as in the Harvard case) that they're finally starting to say "Woah, lets put the brakes on this title 9 / affirmative action stuff." #MeToo only started to slow down when the wrong people started getting accused, like gay Hollywood men (accosting Terry Crews) and Dem political figures.
