There are four key components to every failed state:

  1. high youth unemployment
  2. collapsing currency
  3. systemic political corruption
  4. armed militant groups

Turkey of course, enjoys all four in abundance and has been for some time now.

The US has #1, #2, and #3 going against it.

I'd say 3,4. Ugh ... Ok ... 1 for certain inner city areas. We do have jobs though. I don't see the currency collapsing since Obama will just whip up some shit to keep us going until Hillary gets elected ... Ugh!

Eh, much much more like 3,4, 1 in order, and only if you consider high student loans. We actually have a pretty bad ass economy compared to the rest of the world despite what the TV would have you believe.

This is just a continuation of the massacre, this time a prominent Turkish lawyer named Tahir Elci. This is covering it very well, to the extent it deserves, and I urge you to read it. It's terribly tragic, but one can at least hope that the president finally get's the boot -- and maybe even a trial. It actually could be possible, now that Russia -- the good guy :-) -- is paying very close attention.

A destabilization in Turkey would create a global crisis, which in turn would seriously destabilize global relations, and oil prices in the United States. These events with Turkey, Russia, and ISIS are the seeds for world conflict, I cannot remember a time where the world was at such a brink for world war.

It is what we should have done instead of re-invading Iraq. A crusade to take back Constantinople.

Sounds like Putin to me. Assassinate Kurdish leader, get Kurds to carry out terrorist attacks on Turkish soil.

It was meant to be tongue-in-cheek. Don't worry, I don't believe the world operates like one big Tom Clancy novel.
