I won't even buy Gillette in my life again that's for sure and avoid P&G as much as possible

[–] lord_nougat 0 points 19 points (+19|-0) ago

I've started scrutinizing the fine print on every damned thing. So far there has only been one random product I almost bought on closout but then didn't. I don't even remember what it was, that's how much I missed out on buying whatever it was; but if it's P&G, I'll pick something else for sure.

[–] wishmygfwaspregnant 0 points 4 points (+4|-0) ago

me and my gf skipped buying more dishwasher soap tonight because the store only had cascade and its a P&G brand. I'll just shop elswhere tomorrow.

[–] beesmeesmonies 1 points 4 points (+5|-1) ago

corporate (((american))) products are overpriced over engineered crap.... the 99 cent store is full of products that function better...

[–] HeavyBrain 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

The difference is that 99cent carp may contain toxic components while the corporate carp contains soy.

[–] i_am_texas_charlie 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago  (edited ago)

Don't use their motor oil in your vehicles. Probably safe to use it to oil your guns in a pinch, though.

[–] GlamourSpork 0 points 48 points (+48|-0) ago

After that ad, I went through my apartment and made a list of P&G products and found substitutes. I'm not going to let the parent company get off easy. I realize I am just one person and it turns out I only regularly bought 3 products but I hope it's something.

[–] ladslassie 0 points 22 points (+22|-0) ago

Yep. I'm reading labels more carefully and avoiding P&G. No more Aussie shampoo or Charmin. I found out recently that our 26 year old son is done with anything Gillette, and he's about as apolitical as a person can be. He recently got a free Gillette razor in the mail and he tossed it in the trash. If he's so vehement, I'd bet many of his friends are just as disgusted with Gillette.

Based.

[–] Dark_Shroud 0 points 4 points (+4|-0) ago

That's what's interesting about this. Plenty of guys who are non-political are simply tired of being targeted with this anti-male garbage in advertising and media in general.

[–] GlamourSpork 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

Yeah Aussie is what I miss most.

[–] CommiePatrol 0 points 11 points (+11|-0) ago

Did the same thing, but actually turned out I only had 2 of their products toothpaste and bath soap. Won't be buying it from them again.

[–] Roryzilla 0 points 9 points (+9|-0) ago

Same here. I was using a bunch of their products. Ivory bar soap is the only one I miss. Most bar soaps make me itch.

[–] llliilliilll 0 points 12 points (+12|-0) ago

Give Kirks Castile soap a try. Had the same issue I love that stuff and it’s cheap.0

[–] FreeRebel 0 points 0 points (+0|-0) ago

Dr Bronner's!

[–] sometaters 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

I haven't made a list, but I've definitely been on the lookout for that label when I go shopping. It pains me that Pepto is their's, but a substitute will do just fine I'm sure.

Feels good to be a part of a result of something like this.

[–] Avinaria 1 points 0 points (+1|-1) ago

Your better off getting things like the Walmart or Publix brand (generic brands) when it comes to medicine. Not only is is cheaper but it's the same exact ingredients compared to brand names. In medicine you are paying for the name only.

[–] Ken_bingo2 0 points 23 points (+23|-0) ago

Considering their highest net profit on male grooming is the blades themselves, I don't expect this to hit them hard until everyone runs out. And a box of blades can last months or even a year. So I am optimistic that the 1% decline will continue to grow.

[–] archvile7 0 points 9 points (+9|-0) ago

Use safety razors

Superior shave, fraction of the cost

[–] BlackSheepBrouhaha 0 points 0 points (+0|-0) ago

I use the fancy razors to shave my pubes and nipples.

[–] zak_the_mac 0 points 7 points (+7|-0) ago

Wouldn't that hit them right away then? Because everyone who has blades left wouldn't be buying any anyway, and they'll switch away from Gillette once they've run out.

[–] Revelations2_9 0 points 10 points (+10|-0) ago

Because everyone who has blades left wouldn't be buying any anyway, and they'll switch away from Gillette once they've run out.

That is exactly his point.

[–] Two_Soup 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

I still have Gillette cartridges left. Once I run out, I'm switching to a safety razor

[–] Pwning4Ever 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago  (edited ago)

This is very true, I haven't bought a box of blades in a very long time and, at least a year, because I have a decent amount in the cabinet and it's Gillette, itmay take up to a year for the real pain to begin. But I've already switched deoderant brands inmy recent shopping.

[–] GoylentGreen 0 points 14 points (+14|-0) ago

Went over to a merkur safety razor and feather blades, never looking back.

[–] FullSemiAutomatic 0 points 4 points (+4|-0) ago

Upvoated for Feather blades.

They make a boss razor too.

[–] GoylentGreen 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

Yeah I wanted a feather but they’re pretty expensive, but that merkur kicks ass for the $30 I paid.

[–] ardvarcus 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

Feather blades are Japanese. Very high quality. Some people find them too sharp.

[–] OrdinaryFaggot 0 points 0 points (+0|-0) ago

Yeah, I've been very happy with my Merkur 37c. I also have Feather blades for now, but I tend to switch between those and Astra blades depending on how cheap I'm feeling when it's time to get more blades.

[–] GoylentGreen 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

Yeah I tried a bunch of blades and found I like feather, astra and merkur with feather and astra taking the lead on sharpness in my experience.

[–] postagency 0 points 0 points (+0|-0) ago

I went to a phillips oneblade and haven't been sad.

I have to get a mask seal for work, and that razor is electric and requires no shaving gel. It's fucking amazing.

My department was crazy about our grooming requirements and wouldn’t let me get away with my electric blade unfortunately lol

[–] Apexbreed 0 points 12 points (+12|-0) ago

My wife and I will boycott them for life. No matter what they do to make up for it. Funny thing is, some of the replacement products that we got are much better than Gillette. Weird how that works...

[–] TruthSemen 0 points 0 points (+0|-0) ago

Care to share which brand(s)?

[–] Apexbreed 0 points 4 points (+4|-0) ago  (edited ago)

Right guard for deodorant to replace old spice, (don't buy Astra, they are owned by Gillette) any double edge razors to replace my mach III, Colgate to replace Crest toothpaste (not actually an improvement, since I really can't tell the difference, but fuck P&G), and I'm using store brand dandruff shampoo/body wash. Wal Mart and Target stuff. Can't tell the difference here either, but it's cheaper so that's a win.

[–] Dark_Shroud 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

For toothpaste any non-Fluoride brand will do, Tom's of Maine, Redmond Earthpaste, or Infowar's brands that are partnered with Tom's of Maine.

If you're not ready or able to go safety razor check out Barbasol's options:

Services like one dollar shave club were probably already buttfucking their bottom line

[–] STACKS88 0 points 15 points (+15|-0) ago

Likely. And the geniuses at Gillette thought, "let's make an ad pandering to feminists..." (many of whom don't shave their legs or armpits).

[–] TruthSemen 0 points 5 points (+5|-0) ago  (edited ago)

It was undoubtedly not Gillette's brainchild, but that of their advertising agency. And advertising agencies are chock full of 20-something feminists and SJWs.

[–] oyy_veyy_goyy 0 points 5 points (+5|-0) ago

Dollar shave club is pozzed as fuck too. I remember seeing some tranny and homosexual pandering BS on their web page a while back.

[–] KimBellend 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

Yes. Dollar shave is Jews.

Just get a cheap Chinese safety razor. Mine is made of aluminium and cost me less than a dollar in Chinatown. Awesome shave.

[–] stelleta 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

I'm pretty sure dollar shave club is owned by same parent company as gillette 😑

[–] puggy 0 points 5 points (+5|-0) ago  (edited ago)

No. It's owned by Unilever a mega-corporation but a competitor to P&G.

Michael Dubin founded Dollar Shave Club in 2011. Five years later, in 2016, the company was acquired by Unilever for $1 billion.

[–] lord_nougat 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

I'm pretty sure you're wrong.

They were acquired by unilever

[–] Laurentius_the_pyro 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

Dollar shave club is jewed as all hell.

They promote lgbtpedo faggotry.

[–] McFluffy 0 points 6 points (+6|-0) ago

man, who would have thought...

associating your product with something that will make people upset would make people turn away from your product.

also, even if they did work you have to sac the portion of people that your ad is attacking.

attacking ads only work in politics.

[–] lord_nougat 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

and even then, only sort of.

[–] Crashmarik 0 points 6 points (+6|-0) ago

Most expensive razors around, they obviously decided that stupid people with money were their market
