How fucked up is your country when you want your nurses to be armed? Take a step back and think about that.

I didn't say that, but since you mentioned it, think about it from their perspective.

A. They have no option but to show up to work disarmed

B. They work with the most mentally unstable people in the area, including heavily armed gangsters who come in for gunshot wounds themselves

C. Any whacko knows they will get zero resistance in a killing spree at gun free zones

I used to work in a hospital (our version of Emergency Room in one of the dodgier and sketchier parts of London) and the last thing they would need to worry about is how loaded their gun is when they are running around like a blue arsed fly. Or when to find the time to practise. If you must *have *to have firearms in a hospital have the security armed. And not to speak for the medical staff but they are there to save lives, not end them. A few of them might not be entirely happy about being armed.

That isn't the point at all.

If a zone is marked as "Gun Free" attackers are more likely to attack that zone. Regardless if a nurse has a gun or not. What if a redneck was visiting his injured grandma? He would probably have a gun if it wasn't against the law.

The point he is trying to make is that gun free zones are targets for these kind of attacks because law abiding citizens won't have guns there.
