I'm not sure if folks realize this.
Let's start with what I know to be true.
The eldest hoodlum, on average, dumps about 12 to 40 hours into each guitar thread. That's 40 hours she spent rehearsing and learning each song we submit. That's an average. It's sometimes more. Sometimes, it takes her a couple of months to be able to play her part.
I have put in more than 50k hours into learning to play the guitar. I only spend 1 to 3 hours per thread, for most threads. It's significantly more if there are multiple tracks that need doing.
I've put well over 50,000 hours into practicing and playing.
Now... That's just me and the eldest hoodlum (who proudly says she is nearing a year of real study).
That's JUST us.
Think about the number of hours the rest of the folks have done. We have regular submitters who have done their work for years.
Carl Suitor (I hope I spelled that right) is a country musician who would rather share his work on voat, for free, in the guitar thread. Yes, he has found the thread and loves sharing his work there. He's played as a pro and is a recording artist. He'd rather YOU listen than get paid.
(Someone should ping him.)
Anyhow, my point is this:
We put so many hours of work into this and it's not for ego. It's just to give you something creative and to enjoy ourselves. Crazy Eyes does this every week - showing you how to live it up like you're a rock star. Shit, our archivist puts more hours into the thread than I do.
My point is this...
We work REALLY fucking hard to bring you new music every week.
Fuck me. Ignore me. I just get the shit started. Pay attention to everyone else, because they're doing it for you.
Maybe you can take a few minutes to learn what they do and to thank them for it?
I'll see you in the thread, in just about 3.5 hours.
