It was a creation of media conglomerates. Fuck them and their colluding asses.

If Vevo had a grave, I'd piss on it.

That grave is youtube and if you went to piss on them I'd buy you seven cases of that high end fiji water to replace the piss you'd lose.

It's more like hollow growth than numbered days.

People said much the same over MySpace. They have all the users, they're not going anywhere.

All it takes is the users to move and then money doesn't mean shit.

Meh. VEVO was always youtube's bitch. They hosted most of their videos on youtube in the first place. They weren't a platform for users, just for multinational media conglomerates. This won't change anything; it just acknowledges a truth that's been around forever. We still need a video hosting platform with the "put it up and go" simplicity of today's image hosting sites though.

Vevo To Shut Down Site, Giving In To YouTube Empire - Slashdot

'Vevo, the video-hosting service founded in 2009 as a joint venture between the big three record companies, is shutting down . '

'The company announced in a blog post Thursday that it is shuttering its mobile apps and website, and that "going forward, Vevo will remain focused on engaging the biggest audiences and pursuing growth opportunities."'

'Vevo is almost entirely succumbing to YouTube. '

'Rolling Stone reports:"Our catalog of premium music videos and original content will continue to reach a growing audience on YouTube and we are exploring ways to work with additional platforms to further expand access to Vevo's content," the company said in its blog post. '

' Vevo users on its website and Android, iOS and Windows Mobile apps will receive a tool to migrate their playlists to YouTube. '

the major record labels are manipulative garbage, you really wouldn't want them trying to fund their way to whatever pop shit they're pushing this week being the only thing you see on bitchute.

I don't have the facts on this matter. But my personal experience with Vevo was that all their videos were on YouTube anyhow so I don't understand what the issue is.

I just figured it was some bullshit company trying to get money from YouTube through music video views. Basically like another fucking middleman taking his cut between the musician and the consumer.
