I'm glad Voat's Friday Guitar threads have helped remind me to dust off my guitars. Here are my efforts from previous weeks and the new one, from this week.

It's nice for me to have a running to list to see what my be worth going back to redo and remaster, if I ever get the time.

Friday Guitar 001 - Blues AmCG https://instaud.io/3zm7

I play one guitar track over another using a combination of effects standard to Hendrix and Floyd.

Friday Guitar 002 - F# Arpeggios https://instaud.io/3zm9

Synth Backing over Arpeggios

Friday Guitar 003 - Fuzz in D https://instaud.io/3zmb

A lot of guitar tracks. Pulled out the bass for this one and made drums in FL Studio.

Friday Guitar 004 - Leg Up https://instaud.io/3zmc

Me and my cousin trying out a new microphone in the garage.

(New) Friday Guitar 005 - Vapor https://instaud.io/3zmd

As I was went to get something ready to slap something together for this week, I got news my cousin (a Navy SEAL) was shot three times while on deployment.

This week's is one guitar track split into 3 with different effects on each. A little more raw and unpolished than usual.

Gotta login n say that shit rocks.. Guitar friday night is awesome

[–] csuiter 1 point 5 points (+6|-1) ago

Some mighty fine picking thewebofslime Vapor was my favorite

[–] crazy_eyes [S] 1 point 5 points (+6|-1) ago

I'm sorry to hear about your cousin. I hope he can survive. Shot three times does not sound good at all.

Im glad the Friday Night Guitar Thread has got you playing more often though. You should dust your guitar off at the very least once a week, ideally every day.

I listened to the new track and that sounds pretty cool. Fuzz tone or something going on there. Nice feel to that one. Gets my body wanting to move

[–] thewebofslime 1 point 7 points (+8|-1) ago

Sounds like he is going to make it. Two in the leg, one in the butt is what I was just told.

Thanks for listening.

[–] 293948172 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

Vapor..man.. awesome stuff. So cool

[–] TheBuddha 2 points 13 points (+15|-2) ago

Hello! I'm late. Thanks to @crazy_eyes for getting the thread going for us!

This week, I was going to do some Django, but the eldest hoodlum did not have her part down. Even though it's short, it's complicated. Instead, we decided to record something she's been working on for a while.

Without further ado, this is Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters."

This is my guitar student, in whom I am well pleased.

I am not sure how long I'll be here tonight, but I am here!

[–] thewebofslime 0 points 4 points (+4|-0) ago

Another classic.

[–] TheBuddha 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

Thanks. We try to find stuff people will like that also challenges her to learn new things, or to practice skills she's having issues with.

[–] Timmy2 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

What do you use to get that harmonics sound? Is it a touch of reverb? It's terrific.

[–] TheBuddha 0 points 1 point (+1|-0) ago

At which point?

[–] nigger_plz 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

Woh! Your girl shined on that one. Loved it. COF wanted somebody to set Do Not Go Gently into the Good Night to some music and I do believe this one would fit. I was thinking some slow depressing sounding song would work. Maybe Major Tom also. Anyway that's the name of that tune.

[–] TheBuddha 0 points 1 point (+1|-0) ago

She's making rapid improvements. She is good at puting her hours in.

[–] Nadeshda 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

Tell EH that is beautiful!, so nice sounding! Wonderful for sharing! Love that sound, what is she playing?

[–] TheBuddha 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

Rhythm. The first guitar you hear is her.

She says thanks.

Good evening and welcome to another edition of our Friday Night Guitar Thread. Like normal, I'll go ahead and get you started.

This week, I have some music from the other day when my friend Chris came over to my house and we jammed out for hours out back. That was pretty fun. he came over like 4 in the afternoon and we were jamming out shortly after that till my girlfriend says do you guys know what time it is? It's 2:20 AM! Time flies when you're having fun. I didnt have my recorder set up back there and I didnt feel like fucking around with all the wires and shit so we just played through the PA and I recorded some stuff on my cell phone. You get what we heard. No mixing of anything.

So here's an old classic with me on guitar and Chris singing Stand By Me

I suppose I should ping @puttitout once more so that he's aware and can work his magic. Thanks, Putt! We appreciate all that you do for us!

[–] thewebofslime 1 point 5 points (+6|-1) ago

A classic.

[–] TheBuddha 1 point 3 points (+4|-1) ago

Also, the song is pretty good, as well. ;-) I'm listening now.

I like the chuckle at the end.

[–] crazy_eyes [S] 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

Thanks. I was laughing the whole time he was here. Every time he missed a note or hit the wrong chord and I would look at him and he would laugh as he was singing and that would make me laugh and laugh

[–] jewd_law 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

You would have a bigger turn out on this forum if you had a Friday night jew's harp thread.

[–] crazy_eyes [S] 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

When my friend Chis was over jamming he told me next time he comes hes bringing his jews harp

[–] Nadeshda 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

Oooooooh Love it and yes it wins the popular vote but of course it does!

[–] crazy_eyes [S] 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

Thank you! I'd like to thank all the little people!

[–] csuiter 2 points 10 points (+12|-2) ago

Evening Everyone ... This is a cover that I recorded titled Unfairweather Friend https://soundcloud.com/carl-suiter/carl-suiter-unfairweather-friend ... hope you like it

[–] thewebofslime 0 points 4 points (+4|-0) ago

Keep up the good work.

[–] TheBuddha 0 points 4 points (+4|-0) ago

Do you know anyone that plays brushes on a snare and cymbal?

[–] csuiter 0 points 5 points (+5|-0) ago

Actually I do, and I'm in the process of buying a drum kit from a friend ... one more thing to add to my home studio ... I'm starting to run out of room

[–] crazy_eyes [S] 1 point 4 points (+5|-1) ago

What a sweet, touching song. Sounded great with the strings in there too. Trememdous job Carl!

[–] csuiter 1 point 3 points (+4|-1) ago

Thank You crazy_eyes .. I bought a new DAW and it had some neat strings plugins so I figured I would give it a shot...

[–] 293948172 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

that was awesome

[–] csuiter ago

Thank you so much 293948172 ....

[–] crazy_eyes [S] 2 points 9 points (+11|-2) ago

This track is a new thing that I just put together the other day. Part of it you may have heard before, I been working on putting different things together into one piece. I like to keep it interesting and jam as much cool things as I can into a song. So i came up with this beginning part the other day and I hit record on my phone and played it into it so I wouldn't forget how it goes. And when I listened I liked it, so I recorded it again and tried to not make mistakes, but I still screwed up, just not as often as before. Maybe someday I will be able to play through this whole thing without missing a note but not today. There's too many notes. I haven't put any lyrics to it but part of it the music is telling me to make love, not war. So I called it Make Love enjoy!

[–] Nadeshda 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

It's very catchy and sounds like the start to something rather beautiful!

[–] crazy_eyes [S] 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

Thank you. I dont know what the hell it is really. I dont even know what kind of music to call that. But I like it. So I play it. I'm sure it will morph into something more before its all over

[–] poptical-illusionist 0 points 1 point (+1|-0) ago

I like it. It sounds great and has some great technical stuff going on there that's impressive.

[–] crazy_eyes [S] 0 points 1 point (+1|-0) ago

Awesome! I really didn't know what to make of that one and you never know what others think till they hear it. I'm glad you liked it. One goat even came up with some lyrics for this one. I'm going to have to get to work and make a drum beat and get a bass line and make a full fledged song out of it

[–] nigger_plz 0 points 1 point (+1|-0) ago

Very good track. Catchy and easy to stay with. Is that a 12 string?

[–] crazy_eyes [S] ago

Thanks. no, thats a six string acoustic that i used a 12 string pedal or effect in the reaper on, i thought it sounded better that way

[–] baphometsrage ago  (edited ago)

Wrote up some lyrics you can use or work with just because I felt the jam

[–] crazy_eyes [S] ago

I just caught the edit and thats cool as hell, thanks. Do you sing? you could sing it into your phone and i could edit your voice into the song instead of my voice.

[–] crazy_eyes [S] ago

You wrote lyrics for it? Cool. I would be interested in seeing what you came up with

[–] Mustard_of_puppets 1 point 6 points (+7|-1) ago

This week I did a request for @LegalPerson

Here's Mable by Goldfinger by Mustard

[–] nigger_plz 0 points 4 points (+4|-0) ago

Damn dude you were feeling that one. Good vibe.

[–] Mustard_of_puppets 0 points 4 points (+4|-0) ago

Thanks, it's a fun song and I've always liked it, no idea why I never learned it before. Huge thanks to @LegalPERSON for requesting it, it was a lot of fun.

[–] Nadeshda 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

I enjoyed this! So very nice to see you, this sounds so punk rock, I have a soft spot for punk rock actually, lol... this made me smile... lol cookie dough... uncontrollable giggling ensues :D

[–] Mustard_of_puppets 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

Thanks, I've always loved punk rock. I think it's the most natural and comfortable for me to play too, I have a lot of fun with it.

[–] crazy_eyes [S] 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

Cool tune mustard man. I like the story of that chick a lot better than the one you told me last week!

[–] Mustard_of_puppets 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

You win some, you lose some.

[–] LegalPERSON 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

Haha awesome dude! Such a great song. I just got home so I won’t be doing a tune tonight, but I’ll try to go 123 slam next week.

[–] TheBuddha 1 point 6 points (+7|-1) ago

I have one more track for tonight. This is another one from the soundboard, from back at the blues bar. I'd not normally share this one, as it's not really our best, but it suits a purpose.

It's just a blues jam with the band. Nothing significant, but possibly something you may enjoy. We were getting ready to go on break and this was filler while the rest of the band set up for our return from break. 'Tis just a jam, and nothing more.

(You shoulda seen 'em wiggle.)

[–] Timmy2 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

Damn, that was pretty.

[–] nigger_plz 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

Kicks ass. I think that's your best filler.

[–] TheBuddha 0 points 1 point (+1|-0) ago

Thanks. We were bluesy and it's a rarity to get to be that unscripted.

[–] baphometsrage 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

I'm pretty sure that's how 3/4 of Pink Floyd's songs happened, I'm feeling it

[–] TheBuddha 0 points 1 point (+1|-0) ago

If not them, then maybe the Dead.

For the record, I only have two tattoos. One is the "Steal Your Face" (from long before it was cool) on my left shoulder.

So, I do love a good jam. I honed my improv jam skills at a jazz eatery. It was a horrible job.

[–] Nadeshda 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

Woooo weee you just hit the awesome button in my book! Totally sweet! Geez if you want me to write you notes for Votes, nooo problem this totally wins my vote for tonight!

[–] TheBuddha 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

Glad ya liked it!

[–] TheBuddha 0 points 6 points (+6|-0) ago

Thanks for the sticky, @puttitout!

[–] Nadeshda 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

[–] TheBuddha 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

Thanks and you too!

I doubt I'll be here late tonight. I actually have two extra people here, but they're fine entertaining themselves and will be going to sleep shortly, if not already.
