I think the motorcyclist is partially at fault here. There was really no reason to stop. And, of course, the guy driving should've looked and saw the motorcyclist. They both messed up if you ask me.

[–] crustyjuggler 1 points 8 points (+9|-1) ago

Yeah. I ride and I though he was asking for trouble by stopping so quickly. If you don't ride like everyone is out to kill you, you are not doing it right.

[–] FakeEssense 2 points 4 points (+6|-2) ago

No. The car driver was completely at fault. I can put my car at a total stop on a highway, and you are at fault if you hit me.

This fuck driver was looking elsewhere instead of where he was going.

[–] DeadFox 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

If you stop on the highway I hope you get sandwiched between 2 semis

[–] Mytempacct20171001 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

Yeah I think it would be easily avoided

[–] Ken_bingo2 0 points 0 points (+0|-0) ago

Hey moron. Stopping on the highway will land you in jail, not just a ticket.

[–] GumbyTM 7 points 4 points (+11|-7) ago  (edited ago)

Eat a dick asshole. The bike probably stalled or they needed to switch to reserve.

Unless you get dive bombed and brake checked running into the back of someone is ALWAYS your fault.

[–] Synthicide 0 points 10 points (+10|-0) ago

Yeah, and this wasn’t exactly a high speed situation either. Driver could have stopped or gone around him. Car driver was not paying attention.

[–] Damnpasswords 3 points -2 points (+1|-3) ago

Nah, bikes can brake faster than everyone else on the road.

[–] GoodGodKirk 2 points -2 points (+0|-2) ago

You poor thing.

[–] theysayso 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

I suspect that the driver is not looking the same direction as the camera. I would bet they were looking left at the big truck and didn't expect the motorcycle to stop.

[–] ErrantCognition 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

Right turners are a nightmare for bicyclists and pedestrians for that reason. They're too busy staring into oncoming traffic.

[–] MaFishTacosDaBombBro 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

Yep, I think you're right.

[–] M346 0 points 6 points (+6|-0) ago

At first I thought maybe motorcycle had shitty gas and was bogging out and tried to get out of the way but his brake light was on so he's an idiot. Also you have to commit to right turns because if you stop the person behind you is not looking at you, they think you already went.

[–] Waiyu_Dudat 3 points 6 points (+9|-3) ago

It looks like the driver was looking to the left at the truck just as the biker went into the shade of the tree and hit his brakes to let the truck go by because he knew it would be tough for the truck to slow down.

Yeah it was the car driver's fault. He shouldn't have even been trying to get in there with the truck coming also.

Unless the truck was in the left lane to start with and the biker had no reason to stop in the middle of an intersection. You see the truck swerved to the shoulder, not the left lane.

Either way the car driver was not paying enough attention. The only question in my mind is, maybe the biker is a dumbass too and only the truck driver has his shit together, saving that biker's life.

[–] GoodGodKirk 2 points 4 points (+6|-2) ago

No it wasn’t, there’s 2 lanes. The motorcyclist should never have turned just to stop in the road.

[–] Waiyu_Dudat 0 points 5 points (+5|-0) ago  (edited ago)

No it wasn't what?

Edit oh oh the driver's fault, derp.

Right. The two lanes doesn't even matter. You're right. You only leave the sign when it's safe to do so then you go, you don't get to the road then stop.

The driver of the car should've noticed and stopped also, in my opinion, but because of your point I don't think he should be "at fault" by law.

[–] brokespanker 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

Generally bikers try to avoid trucks regardless of the lane they are in. Air currents from a fast moving truck on a slow moving bike are not fun for one thing. Visibility is another issue. I would let the truck go by too in that situation.

[–] Waiyu_Dudat 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

We can't see the rest of the intersection well enough to know where the truck was when the biker started off. I understand the need for bikers to protect themselves, so taking off without it being clear then stopping on the road was still unsafe, unless the truck came out of nowhere.

There's really not enough info imo to really be certain of who is the dumbass here.

[–] B166-ER 1 points 3 points (+4|-1) ago

Poor choice of places to stop, hopefully, the biker learned his lesson. Play stupid games win stupid prizes.

[–] MainFag 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

Driver who doesnt stop is at fault, but the motorcyclist will be the one who pays the price.

normaly.. if this happened in us or wtfever i dunno those rules... but in some eu countries and the one im in now the road administration and road police are making out the road rules... now police/road administration are from my poinbt of view totally entitled to do that since they are considered the 3rd parties and were made based on technical data/equipment/machineries(vehicles) of that road portion or wtfever... its like when u r buying a car... u use it for what u bought it not to fucking fly with it or use it on the field to crop shits... personally i dont agree with this term rules... those rules shoul;d be consensuses or agreements but in this case i rly dunno how to callem anyway here that term rly should be respected cause its based on technical details what usually covers 80% exactly the dreivers needs... either they get a ticket and so on... i dont say these rules are perfect fucking crap no... there are sitatuions even on the road where rules are pushing u to breakem but u gotta understand that routine/ignorance is the one what kills u and only luck after years and years of drving save u from troubles... yea luck shouldnt be a part of this shit but it fucking is... it always is... a part of everything more or less... and this situation is an eloquent example... that a clear priority law break... and in this country u get 30 days license driver suspension + ticket for that IF its not the cause of an accident... if it is... u get 60 days suspension i dunno about the ticket but more than sure u get that too IF its only with material loss... if its with victims or deaths i dunno... probably a file and court and license annulation if i remember right....
