A Word Study
Our friends and colleagues gathered together at the bacchanal for an evening of jolly carousing. Of course, wherever there is an argosy of endless alcohol to fuel us, there is a high risk for the more bibulous to turn bumptious. And when the alcohol unlocks a bumptious person's tongue, playful badinage can quickly morph into bilious shouting matches.
For some of the cloying coquettes, the alcohol will make her beguiling affectations more efficacious with the hungrier men consumed by their own concupiscence. But her apparently amatory blandishments belie her uninterestingly noncomplex intentions of seeking attention. The men hoping to engage in physical debauchery will only be deceived by her transient and intangible dalliances.
The more circumspect of us guests will keep ourselves content with casual confabulations, engage in the disport provided by the party's host, and perhaps have a few laugh's at the expense of the brouhaha-stirring drunkards that night.
