I'd still prefer to use another image host. Imgur has slowly transitioned into a weird social networking site.

I find the claims suspect, but I always appreciate more than one place to host pictures for the sake of keeping things around. Not necessarily a bad thing to host on more than one site.

Imgur deletes images after several months, I believe (if you don't have a paid account). I know this because this girl sent me sexy photos of herself, and I didn't download them but kept the URL. When I went back they were not there.

This is not true. I have links to images I've uploaded that are at least 3 years old and I have never paid for an account.

This is one of the reasons I use Imgur, actually - if the image goes 6 months without even a single view, it's deleted. So I don't have to worry about stuff sticking around forever (unless somebody saves it, obviously)

Pomfse stores files for (basically) forever, and Uguu stores them for just an hour.. if I could have something like Imgur's 6-months-without-any-views limit, that would be perfect

Pomf.se needs money.

If you use it, consider donating!

This, please. @Nekunekus (on twitter) works hard on pomf.se/uguu.se and they're somewhat strapped for cash at the moment. I encourage anyone using them to donate.

I have not heard this. Can you link me some evidence or proof of this?

I would also like to see evidence, considering Imgur isn't owned by Reddit and would have zero reason to do this unless it's just pure spite.

Yeah. They may be Reddit Light, but I'm not going to do anything just because some has told me thats how it is.

While I have not heard of imgur admins being in kahoots with reddit, I have heard concerns from CGPGrey on their Intellectual Property rights. From their Terms of Service:

With regard to any file or content you upload to the public portions of our site, you grant Imgur a non-exclusive, royalty- free, perpetual, irrevocable worldwide license (with sublicense and assignment rights) to use, to display online and in any present or future media, to create derivative works of, to allow downloads of, and/or distribute any such file or content.

I'm not entirely sure if this section is what he's referring to and I'm not sure how mischievous it is, but it's something to think about.

Doubt it. That's about what you'd see anywhere. Besides, that doesn't relate to deleting images that aren't favourable to Reddit. It's been days, and I've heard no proof, or even a shred of it, to justify avoiding them. Seems to me more like it's "stay away from Imgur so we're less like Reddit" but with a lie/rumour to try and justify it.

Great post man, I just read yesterday here on voat that imgur pics were being deleted that were linked to here on voat that was critical of reddit or imgur. This is a much needed change and thank you for providing a nice list. Upvoated.

You can paste images from your clipboard on imgur. Non of the alternatives can do that.

First I've heard of imgur getting caught in the cancer. What kind of stuff has been disappearing from there?

The problem with Minus, is that it sometimes redirects to an ad for it's website/app (can't remember which). It won't for you (possibly if you're logged in), but for others, it may.

Anywho, might I suggest Cubeupload. Unlimited space and zero compression. I've used it for awhile now, and it's done me good.
