There is a separation of church and state in the US for a reason. If the church wants to receive government aid (via the benefits from being listed as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization {complete with tax exemptions}), then they are prohibited from supporting political candidates, just like all the other 501(c)(3) organizations.

If they want to tell all their regulars how to vote every election, then they can pay their fair share of taxes, just like every one of their donors.
