I decided to start /v/indiegames because I'm an indie game dev and while there's already a robust gaming community here, indies can get drowned out with all the discussion of big studio games. I'm trying to do something a little different, creating a niche spot for indie game fans and developers. That's why I'm encouraging self promotion of projects(as long as it isn't too spammy), and articles about game development along side the usual news and reviews.
We currently have 144 subscribers. I'd like to see a lot more, but it will grow with time.
I'm also moderating /v/pixelart because it's intrinsically tied to my passion for games and game development as well. Plus, I'm not half bad at pixel art so it gives me a spot to show off. Currently, we've got 40 subscribers over there.
