SJW Female Inadvertently Admits SpaceX Launch a Huge Success Without Any Women Engineer submitted by InjusticeLeague to news

And the thing flew on the first try. I was there, and it was an experience I'll remember for the rest of my days.

Mr. Musk had expressed the simple hope that the thing got far enough away from LC-39A so as not to cause major damage. That wasn't P. T. Barnum BS as I've heard some say, he was being dead serious. Launch facility damage is a major setback, and this was mostly a learning experience for the future. Controlling clusters of multiple engines is exceedingly difficult, and all I was hoping to see was the vehicle reach Max Q before coming apart.

It transitioned super sonic more smoothly than any STS ever did, like a needle. The vapor plume during transition was beautiful, well defined, and the upper level wind shear concerns of the previous delays were immediately apparent. FH flew beautifully.

I was there to witness Apollo 9 fly as a kid. 49 years later, I just experienced the same feeling again. Let's light this candle.

I'm so thankful I made the effort to be there to see it. If you ever get the chance, go see a launch in person. You'll never regret it.

Edit: Sorry, I forgot why I started writing in the first place. Perhaps there's a correlation between the unexpected, unmitigated first flight success and the room full of testosterone?

Old guy just sayin'.

I signed up here the last time deddit did something stupid (Ellen Pao, maybe?) and tried to stay, but after a month or two I was just talking to myself. Even lurking became boring because there was very little new material, and what did get posted was mostly coming from the other site anyway. This time is different though, and I can never go back. If this place dries up again I'll just read a damn book or something.

I am not a leftist sleeper, nor a shill, or even much of a shitposter. I am, however, tired of being lied to, and told what I can and cannot say, or what I should think. I'm too old for that shit anymore.

Georgia Home Owner Used Rifle to Kill Home Invader During a 3AM Break-In submitted by pcdude to news

Own a musket for home defense, since that's what the founding fathers intended. Four ruffians break into my house. "What the devil?" As I grab my powdered wig and Kentucky rifle. Blow a golf ball sized hole through the first man, he's dead on the spot. Draw my pistol on the second man, miss him entirely because it's smoothbore and nails the neighbors dog. I have to resort to the cannon mounted at the top of the stairs loaded with grape shot, "Tally ho lads" the grape shot shreds two men in the blast, the sound and extra shrapnel set off car alarms. Fix bayonet and charge the last terrified rapscallion. He Bleeds out waiting on the police to arrive since triangular bayonet wounds are impossible to stitch up. Just as the founding fathers intended.

Some sort of metal projectile with an odd profile.

You knew it was coming: Mainstream media is worried about 'right-wing anger' and "violence against Muslims" in the wake of nearly 300 killed by Islamic terrorists in Sri Lanka submitted by noworldorder to news

I know I'm worried about right wing anger. It certainly pissed me the hell off.

Edit: guys, it was dark humor. I'm right wing.
