Lenovo is now using rootkit-like techniques to install their software on CLEAN Windows installs, by having the BIOS overwrite windows system files on bootup submitted by PM_ME_WHAT_YOU_WANT to technology

Unlike some news headlines, this is just as bad as the title sounds.
On top of all that, the instant your laptop has internet access, the Lenovo auto updater (which overwrites the default Windows one) phones home to Lenovo... Using NO encryption. This leaves you wide open to a low level hack, especially if you're on a public network.
This is unreal. I can't wait to see Lenovo try to justify this.

This ^. It's a nice way to expose smaller subverses to the masses and generate a bit of revenue.

Now this is why I come to Voat. Stuff like this would be filtered out of most other sites.

If a Muslim did that with a Bible and got press coverage, there would be an equally large Christian shitstorm.

How is that a bad thing? When has inter-religion hate accomplished anything other than genocide on a massive scale?

Not the best point to make IMHO.
Africans would have no incentive to sell slaves if they weren't in such demand. It's kind of like the war on drugs... If you have insane demand for something, someone will pop up to satisfy it by any means necessary.
So yeah, the Africans may directly responsible, but the root cause is people across the globe offering money for them.
